Directional selection can be when a bird with the bigger beak survives better because it can open all types of seeds. Stabilizing selection can be when a normal size baby is more likely to live than a baby that is born too small or too big. Disruptive selection can be if when birds with small or big beaks split into subgroups: one that eats small seeds and one that eats big seeds.
